Target Audience research

From this chart of information gathered by the UK Film council, our target audience of people aged 25-44 are above the medium range of films watched quarterly. Their percentage of watching 11-25 is 45% and 43% respectively. They are also prominent to watching over 50 films quarterly, with these percentages they are more likely to watch a film that appeals to them.

The thriller/suspense genre is highly rated with its 53% of audiences enjoying films of this audience. This would allow our film to appeal to a wide public audience, a majority, giving it a wide range of potential audiences. However the war genre only has a public enjoyment rating of 29%, this would limit the films potential audience as only about a third of the audience would show any interest in he film before developing any further knowledge about the film itself.

Thriller/suspense show a large favourable rating by the public audience at 26% of people rating it as their favourite dil genre. War films however yet again show a less favourable rating of only 7% of the public rating it as their favourite genre.

From this graph our film will benefit from being targeted towards the Eastern European or Black African/Caribbean audience as both of these groups show favourable preferences to the war genre over the average GB audience. Both of those groups also show higher ratings of favourability of thriller/suspense over the average GB audience. The graph also shows that the war films genre is most disliked by the older female audience with a 9% lower favourable rating than the average GB populous rating.
