Churchill Productions - Location release

Churchill Productions - Questionnaire 3

Did you enjoy the film?
Yes

What specifically did you enjoy about it?
I have an interest in history, particularly the second world war and human behaviour

Was there anything you didn't like in the film?
the van in the background was noticeable

What would you change to improve the film?
They could have increased the run time by a minute, this would allow more time for character development

Did you notice the range of camera shots?
Yes

Do you think it fits in with its age rating?
I think the age rating should be lowered, the violence was implied however there was no blood or violence seen throughout. I think it should be lowered to a 12

Churchill Productions - Questionnaire 1

Did you enjoy the film?
Yes.

What specifically did you enjoy about it?
"The editing was very well done. It was fluid and flowed well."

Was there anything you didn't like in the film?
"Why was the camera quality so much different in some of the scenes? It didn't make any sense."

What would you change to improve the film?
"Use the same camera for the whole shoot, it would make it have continuity."

Did you notice the range of camera shots?
"Yeah, I noticed a lot of low angles looking up at the actors"

Do you think it fits in with its age rating?
"Even with the kill scene it doesn't seem overly violent, so yeah it does fit"

Churchill Productions - Questionnaire 2

Did you enjoy the film?
Yes.

What specifically did you enjoy about it?
"The seriousness of the films story is very interesting, like the historical relevance"

Was there anything you didn't like in the film?
"A lot of the time there wasn't any sound in the film."

What would you change to improve the film?
"Some background sounds like a soundtrack would give some content to all the quite scenes"

Did you notice the range of camera shots?
"The long shots in those two scenes, especially in the last scene made it seem more powerful"

Do you think it fits in with its age rating?
"Yeah, the war setting and the murder scene definitely fits with the 15 rating. And because the actual death scene wasn't shown it definitely wouldn't be considered an 18 rated."

Churchill Productions - Colour treatment

During the editing process, all of the shots in the past were colour treated. In addition, some of the shots were manually focused to give a clearer view of what is happening in shot. We decided to colour treat the shots in the past to make the scene appear old, it makes it clearer to the audience which shots are in the past and which are in the present.
The shots were edited so there was colour in the middle and they slowly fade out to black and white. This gives the impression that these scenes are old. In addition, this colour scheme connotes strongly to the war time or the 1930's/40's which is relevant to the genre of our film

Churchill Productions - Brief synopsis

    Synopsis

The story takes place in a modern era but uses flashbacks to tell the main story of the war character being talked about by the young male character. Flashbacks show the story as the narrator tells the audience what he's reading from the book. The book tells the story of Fritz who was the grandfather of the reader. The grandson finds out what his grandfather really did during the war and experiences a fierce breakdown.
